Christmas Joy

Christmas is such a wonderful time!  A time to celebrate life, love, family, and most of all -- the gift that makes Christmas real.

Celebrity adoptions have hit the news in a big way this year.  Regardless of what you think about the people involved, adoption is a beautiful picture of selfless love -- a gift.  Children in wretched situations with little hope are offered new lives and loving families to meet their every need.

 That’s what Christmas is -- an adoption offer.  God -- who has everything and needs nothing -- reached out to us with an offer: Join My family, Take My name, Let Me meet your every need.  He sent the offer in the only form we could understand -- human form.  He dressed His Son in flesh and bone so we could hear what He had to say.  And He paid the price for the adoption -- the life of His Son, His only Son, on Calvary.  The offer has been extended.  The price has been paid.  And yet many turn it down.

 To those who have never accepted this gracious offer of adoption, I ask you, “Why not now?”

 To those who have been adopted into the Family of God and share His name, I say, “Christians, share your joy!”
